The Bengals will clinch a playoff berth at home with a win over the Baltimore Ravens, one of the NFL’s top teams.

Cincinnati has struggled in the attendance department all season long, often playing with 1/3 or more of the stadium empty.

Many Bengals fans are bitter over owner Mike Brown’s way of running the franchise and aren’t buying tickets to show their displeasure.

The Bengals are offering a 2-for-1 deal on tickets to Sunday’s game, hoping they can fill the stadium and create a hostile environment for the Ravens.

After the long standoff, the Cincinnati Bengals finally traded disgruntled quarterback Carson Palmer, sending him to the Oakland Raiders.

While Paul Brown seemed set on holding onto Palmer, the Raiders ridiculous offer for the quarterback forced him to change his mind.

In exchange for Palmer, the Bengals could receive two first-round draft picks. They are assured of at least one. They will receive another one if the Raiders win a playoff game in the next two years. If not, they still get a second round pick.

Considering that Palmer hasn’t taken a snap in almost a year, isn’t young anymore and had a lousy season in 2010, this is a stunning trade.

This is a great way for the Bengals to get some very good, young talent onto their team in future years as they continue to rebuild.

Quarterback Andy Dalton helped spark the comeback by tossing a touchdown pass to Jermaine Gresham before running for one himself.

Dalton then lead his team on a final minute drive that set up the game-winning field goal by Mike Nugent.

Despite their expected struggles, the Bengals are in tie for second place in the AFC North with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson will have to serve a 20-day jail sentence during the middle of the upcoming NFL season.

The sentence comes after Benson reached an agreement on two misdemeanor assault cases in Texas.

Benson plans to surrender on October 17, which is the start of the team’s bye, so as to miss as little football as possible while serving his sentence.

The Bengals were aware of the charges when they elected to re-sign Benson, and they haven’t be shy about courting troubled players in the past.

Having said that, they certainly expect Benson to be on his best behavior from here on out and to start acting like the veteran that he is on this young team.

Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson was arrested for assault in his home state of Texas.

It’s the second straight offseason that Benson has run into trouble with the law, and it certainly isn’t helping the Bengals reputation.

Once again, Cincinnati has taken the lead in the standings when it comes to arrests this offseason.

Cornerback Pacman Jones was also arrested. Benson will be a free agent once the lockout ends, and this certainly doesn’t help his cause to remain with the team.

Benson was able to turn his career around after leaving Chicago for Cincinnati, but his constant trouble with the law will scare off a number of teams.

Former Cincinnati Bengals wideout Terrell Owens may have an even tougher time finding a job this fall after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL.

There are conflicting reports on how the injury occurred, with some saying it happened during taping of his VH1 show while others claims it went down during a personal workout.

There is no timetable on his recovery, but an ACL injury usually keeps an athlete out for 10-12 months.

If that’s the case, it doesn’t take a math major to figure out that Owens will not play during the 2011 season.

That also could very well be the end to an outstanding but tumultuous 16-year NFL career.

Palmer said he has plenty of money saved up in the bank if the Bengals don’t trade him, so he could certainly retire.

He said he does not have to play football for the money, and will only play for the love of the game.

Palmer feels that a separation between he and the team is the best option considering their limited success together.

The Bengals have been resistant to trading Palmer so far, but it doesn’t seem like he is bluffing.

The Cincinnati Bengals held onto their head coach, but the offensive coordinator will not be returning.

Bob Bratkowski was fired after 10 seasons with the team, though you can hardly place all of the blame on him.

This is a perfect example of how dysfunctional this organization really is. How does a coach keep his job for 10 years when you consider how bad this team has been over the past decade?

While Bratkowski may not be the man for the job, it doesn’t help when you have Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens chirping for the ball.

Whoever comes in to replace Bratkowski may have to completely start over with the offense. Owens will not be back, and Ochcocinco and Carson Palmer might not be either.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer has requested a trade and claims he will think about retirement if it doesn’t happen.

Palmer said he and his family are already financially set for the rest of their life and that he would follow through on the retirement claim.

There are several teams who would be in the market for a quarterback, especially one of Palmer’s stature.

That said, those same teams woul have to be concerned with the way he has struggled the past two years.

It will be interesting to hear more on why Palmer suddenly wants out of Cincinnati so badly, but their consistent losing has to be a big part of it.
